Transforming negative energy in the workplace

In the office environment, believe it or not, your co-workers truly aren't your friends, in the truest sense of that word. Each and every one of them wants to move up the ladder and make a whole lot more money. You see, those who are happy where they are sooner or later discover that their normal raise each year prices them out of the salary range for the job that they love so much.

Yes, sooner or later, their boss puts the heat on in hope of replacing that person with someone who will do just as good a job for a whole lot less wage. I saw that happen time and time again. So too, that once happy employee isn't so happy when that expected raise doesn't happen because the salary range for the job is less than that employee's wage.

As luck would have it, a good manager is very aware of his departmental expenses, beside the amount and quality of the work that is done by the people he is responsible for. Yes, he has to get the work done as cheaply as possible, in order to look good and also have a chance to move up the management ladder within the company.

I suppose that an ideal situation for that manager is to have employees who can each do the work of two people, while being paid less money than the industry average for that kind of work. Those kind of emploess are commonly referred to as loyal suckers who are desperate to earn any kind of income and terrified by the possibility of being fired.

Sure, loyalty is very important. As such, most movers and shakers will do anything that is required, in order to move up to that next level. More often than not, loyalty isn't the main factor for their job performance. Rather, it's what they want for themselves, and they do whatever it takes to move up.

Guess what. Your manager moved up because his employees are dumb enough believe that they might actually be promoted because they can do the work of two people and ask for more. You better believe that your boss moved up a long time ago, and that move wasn't the result of doing the work of two people. More often than not, that person conned its way into a management position, or had a friend or a relative who hired that person or outright back-stabbed its former boss.

That's right! Stupid people can be managers if they are smart enough to hire people who do more work for less money. You better believe that there are a whole lot of stupid managers who just know how to get the most for the very least.

Yes, those who don't move up usually move out, or are moved out when cheaper labor is available. So too, you might be lucky enough stay where you are, but you will soon find that your income won't pay the ever increasing costs just to stay healthy and alive.

My advise to you is keep learning, even if you have to go to night school. You must also do whatever it takes to move up or move out, in order to truly be successful in life.
