Asthma is a chronic illness caused by the inflammation in the airway passage and narrowing the breathing structures.
Asthma is very much common in children than adults.To diagnose asthma in very young children could be a difficult task because they are unable to communicate properly about their problem. There are chances that the symptoms can also be mixed up with cough and cold problem.
The following are the symptoms of an Asthma attack:
1. Chronic coughing and wheezing
2. Shortness of breath
3. Tightness of Chest
4. Chest Congestion
5. Frequent Cold
6. Faster breathing
7. Unable to run for a longer time
8. Less Stamina
9. Catching for breath while talking
10. Cold weather induced cough
11. Unable to perform physical exercises
12. Condition worsen especially at night
Asthma triggers varies from person to person. As a matter of precautions following are the triggers that should be avoided or reduced:
1. Pollens from trees,plants or grass
2. Dust
3. Air pollution
4. Dander from animals
5. Chemical sprays
6. Over the counter medicines
7. Rigorous exercise
8. Cold and dry weather
Some of the above triggers can be avoided and some like change in weather cannot be avoided and controlled. It is a chronic disease that does not have any cure but however, if you avoid the triggers, you can control asthma and your child can live happily. Be sure to seek a health care professional if your child feels any problem.
