7 Ways to Look and Feel Younger
Don't smoke and avoid second hand smoke. Smoking causes wrinkles, stains teeth, and discolors your skin and nails. Smoking makes your voice sound older and decreases your stamina. When you quit smoking you will start to look and feel better right away.
If you drink alcohol, do so in moderation. Research shows that a drink or two a day is healthy for your body. Too much alcohol will make you prone to injuries, decreases your energy, and make you look older.
Protect yourself from the sun. Use sunscreen everyday to reduce wrinkles, age spots, and your risk for skin cancer. Make sure you use a sunscreen with a sun protection factor (SPF) of 30 or higher. Apply a generous amount of sunscreen at least 20 minutes before you go out in the sun. Wear a hat and sun-glasses to protect your eyes from the aging effects of the sun.
Drink 8 to 10 glasses of water each day. Your skin will look younger if you are well hydrated and water will help flush toxins out of your body.
Get enough sleep. Lack of sleep will make you look worn out and older. Adults should try to sleep at least 7 or 8 hours each night.
Eat foods that are naturally high in antioxidants, such as artichokes, beans, berries, pumpkin, green tea, and dark chocolate.
Stretch and exercise every day. Try yoga to keep your body limber and youthful. Walk every day. Walking is one of the best exercises and can be done without going to a gym or buying fancy equipment.
