Predictions: 2008 Super Bowl

SUPER BOWL SUNDAY. To many, this is a national holiday. Shops are closed earlier than usual, people are more anxious, and Dominoes makes tons of money. Everybody has their predictions so I'm going to pitch mine. This year is already been witness to two significant undefeated games, a team caught cheating, the best individual performance from a running back, and one of the greatest comebacks in Monday night history. This doesn't even include the number of new "powerhouses" in the league and the return of a legend. The super bowl is right around the corner, and thats why I believe that the New England Patriots will make a return for the 4th time in 6 years. However, they will come up short. Actually, they will get blown away. To whom u ask, the Dallas Cowboys. This super bowl will mark the old dynasty versus the new dynasty because of the "3 out of 4" that they both pulled off. I know people are reading this and asking if I'm crazy. Then again, we were asking that to every New England fan who thought they were going to beat the Rams in 2001. Look how that turned out, perhaps one of the great upsets in the modern era in football. The Cowboys have one thing that the New England offense has yet to show, a running game. Although the pats have a good running back, the cowboys have arguably the best tandem in the league with Julius Jones and Marion Barber. The big offense line of the Cowboys can negate the scheme of New England with the linebackers and lineman that are big and the different locations they start from. I feel nobody can cover Jason Witten up the middle and if T.O. can perform good on a bad ankle(super bowl 2005 N.E. versus PHI), imagine how he would do at 100%. Tony Romo will be able to match Tom Brady and will have the ball longer as the game goes on. Has for the defense, i feel with Demarcus Ware and Greg Ellis, the pass rush will be there and they will give Tom something to think about the next time he drops back to pass. I think that they should play some man with 6 defensive backs. Blitz once in a while, but make sure that Roy Williams is not covering anybody and you let him sit back there with Keith Hamlin and follow the receivers as well as Tom Brady's eyes. Final score, Cowboys 31, Pats, 14 which will ruin their bid for a perfect season.
