Grilling vegetables is a great way to add a delicious flavor and appearance to your vegetables. You really don't need to do much to grill your vegetables, it is pretty simple to do. While most vegetables can be grilled there are some that do not grill well at all and you will want to avoid. Many vegetables that are high in water content are not going to be the best choice. The most obvious vegetables that you do not want to grill are cucumbers, lettuce, celery, and other leafy greens.
Lets focus on the best vegetables to grill that even a novice can prepare beautifully.
Asparagus
Eggplant
Corn
Zucchini
Squash
Bell Peppers
Poblano Pepper or other chili peppers
Onions
Mushrooms
Potatoes
Now with the preparation.
Make sure that your grill is clean.
Clean and trim your veggies.
Cut the veggies into the ideal pieces that you want to serve.
Place the marinade that you are going to be using onto the vegetables or simply brush with butter and add a little salt and pepper.
If you are using a grilling basket, place your veggies inside.
You can also choose to make skewers with your vegetables.
Also you can place your larger pieces of vegetables directly onto the grill.
Turn your vegetables frequently to avoid burning them.
Depending on the vegetables that you use it will take a differnt amount of time, so watch them closely. Typically vegetable will take anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes.
Remove from the grill when they are done and serve.
Grilling vegetables leaves them with a great taste as well as appearance taht your whole family should enjoy. Remember that when you are creating a marinade that it does not have to contain alot of ingredients. You do not want to take away the natural flavors of the vegetables. So stick to butter, salt and pepper or other seasonings. Lemon also makes a great marinade for vegetables. Keep it simple however to get the best flavor out of them.
