What is a NASCAR race car?

The earlier races of Nascar were in fact , right off the street stock cars . When ever they would finish a race , they would load the wife and kids in to it and drive home .

Today , there is nothing stock about a Nascar racing car . The only resemblance would be the cars body . Every thing else is high performance , and high tech engineering . The motors of these monster cars can turn 7500 RPMs , with over 5,000 HP and can run speeds of over two hundred miles an hour .

Performance and safety are the things that make this type of racing so exciting . Your driver going speeds of 200 MPH or better , wrecking and walking away safely . This has been the testimony of Nascar racing and of their cars .

High performance cars , with roll cages , anti- flip devices to keep the cars from flying off the track , flame retardant foam in the gas tanks to prevent explosions or fire . Kevlar racing suites for the drivers protection , the X-belt to keep the driver in his seat . Air cooled helmets to keep the driver cool inside the cockpit of the car .

If you have ever had the pleasure of taking the "Petty Experience", at a local track that it is offered . Then you know what a Nascar race car is all about . It is like strapping your self to a rocket and hitting the after burner . The G-forces of the car and steep embankments of the track , test your skills and endurance .

A Nascar race car is a adrenaline junkies wet dream . The dangers are real , the people are real , and the excitement is so very habit forming . Once you have had the experience of the ride , you keep wanting to go back for more .

Nascar race cars have evolved in to the speed monsters of rocket science . A far cry from the days when they drove their families to the tracks and back home afterwords . Nascar Race cars are time capsules , taking us in to a new age of technology , and safely go where no man thought he could go . "Fast"!
