After reviewing the website Furisdead.com, and setting aside my own personal revulsion brought on by the graphic, unnecessary brutal nature of the pictures shown, I must honestly say I feel the creators of this site have accomplished the goal they set out to do in the manner they wanted to do it. The message is simple. There is absolutely no reason to allow these poor animals to endure the pain and suffering that is inflicted upon them for the vanity and monetary profit of humans.

The way that this information is presented though is definitely too graphic and not appropriate for all ages. This website is truly not for everyone whether you are a believer in their message or not. I do believe that they will lose a lot of potential supporters not because these people believe that killing animals for their fur is right but because of the brutal stark nature with which they present the material.

The site itself is set up very creatively enabling viewers to acquire this knowledge through many different features such as articles, videos, and related links. There are numerous pictures and testimonials from different celebrate spokespeople expressing in their own words the mission of this group. It was a very good idea to use such a varying group of celebrities enabling every reader to pick one that they are familiar with or inspired by.

Also, the horrific real pictures of the inhumane brutal treatment of the animals that are being raised or trapped for their fur, ranging from deer and mink to dogs and cats, really have a shock value that enrages the reader. It is honest, graphic and sad.

We are bombarded daily by pain and suffering in the newspaper, on T.V. and in our own personal life. We become desensitized. We feel that there is nothing that we can do to change what is going on. This website actually gives us the opportunity to make a difference.
It is truly senseless in this day and age with the technology that we have to create realistic fake furs keeping us warm and stylish to resort to the insane killing of these animals.

All we have to do is not buy or condone the sale of the fur or skin of animals. Speak out and inform your family, friends and neighbors. Start and sign petitions against stores that sell these items. Write to your government representatives and express your dissatisfaction with their in-activeness on this issue. We can make a difference in the lives of these animals. If there is no market for the items that these inhumane businesses are selling and the profit disappears, then these business will not longer exist.

Furisdead.com gives an abundant amount of background and facts that provides the uninformed reader with the knowledge to make an intelligent educated decision on their opinion of the fur trade. I do feel though on a personal level that their methods of trying to reach people is not the best way to go about it. A lot of very sensitive caring people that may share the same beliefs will just not be able to continue past the graphic pictures and disgusting facts about the fur trade. These gross images will turn them away. But I think that this is the point that this group is trying to make. They want the shock value. They want the rage.
