Poetry: The beach

Somewhere in the distant ocean,
lies a magical island amid the motion
of tumbling waves and salty spray,
beaches of yellow,
rocks of Grey,
as birds sing a melody
in the swaying palm trees,
shimmering in the breeze.
What a perfect place to be.

The sun kisses my skin
I relax,
sit back on the sand,
warmth against my body.
I relax,
for nothing have I planned.

My eyes close beneath the sky
I breathe,
deeply, ocean air fills my being,
with scent of green and blue.
I breathe,
what peace my soul is feeling.

I hear the calming silence,
I listen,
to the rushing of the ocean gesture
like a living rolling heart beat.
I listen,
as the trees talk, in a hushed whisper,
and the sweet symphonic flourish
of the colorful birds, nourish,
my soul deeper.

Here in the distant ocean,
on the magical island
amid the motion,
I am calm, alive, at one.
