There are toomany slogans in the world: Political, Business, Commercial, Presidents' slogans etc. You can pay more attantion to each of them but commercial ad slogan is one of the creative slogans we have in the world.
It means that using the slogan you can ad your company's image and mission, but not always it is profitable.
I can say that the slogan is the half (50%) of the marketing. Slogan, Brand form and logo is one of the main things nowadays in the world. This is very unbeleivable but today you can sell the brand (it means that at the same time you are selling the slogan) know in the world.

The best companies are using the slogans in the world on subconscious memory of the consumers and it works.
You can always remember several words of the company and this is in your mind.
"Your local bank" - HSBC these three words remind you that there is a bank in your city and that is HSBC.
Sometimes the brand name is included in the slogan and this very useful as the consumer can remember not only the brand's (company's) name as the slogan:
SHARP - "Sharp minds Sharp products";
EA Sports - "EA Sports. it's in the name"
SONY - "It's a SONY"
etc.
Sometimes three/four words are enough to get interested in this or that product or company:
CISCO Systems - "Welcome to the human network"
CNN - "Be the first to know"
Nintendo DS - "touching is good"
PHILIPS - "Let's Make things better"
etc.
Some slogans make the consumer to visit or to find out what it is:
YAHOO - "Do you Yahoo!?"
Verizon wireless - "Can you hear me now?... Good!"
California Milk Processor Board - "Got milk?"
etc.
More and more companies are trying to create such slogan which will be memorable for the consumer.
