As someone who was incapable of falling pregnant for four years I know how it feels to be trying, month after month and finding everything you are doing is not working.
It has such an emotional impact on your relationship, and can tend to overwhelm all your waking thoughts. I remember how I felt when friends around me fell pregnant, many were reluctant to tell me of their great fortune. There were thoughts of making appointments at a fertility clinic, but then I became pregnant.
I will advise of some of the things you need to do to increase your chances of getting pregnant, including the big one, the secret womens business, and three babies later I guarantee that it worked for me.
Please, before the stress of this ruins your relationship or begins to make you feel bitter and resentful, and before you spend a lot of money on fertility treatments, please consider some of the points below.
I am not going to tell you to lose weight, to stop smoking and drinking. I am also not going to advise of foods to increase sperm count or to improve the release of your eggs. These things are documented everywhere. But I will advise on some natural human instincts.
1)Know Your Body
The female body, especially the female reproductive system is one of the most complex and amazing things in the world.
Women begin to ovulate approximately 14 days from the first day of your last period. If you pay attention to your body at this time, you will become aware of some strange activity.
If you are particularly attuned to your body, you may feel when the egg is released. It feels like a little 'pop'. I'm serious, pay attention to your lower abdomen at this time.
Women also secrete a fluid at this time, closely resembling egg whites in look and texture. It is clear and sticky and if you feel it it should have a stringy elasticity, like gum when on your fingers.
To help measure the approximate time you are ovulating, purchase an ovulation kit from your pharmacy. This is a urine based test that measures levels of hormones that a women is secreting at this time.
There is another method of using a thermometer to measure your temperature, as a womens temperature rises at the time of ovulation. If you are interested in the particulars of how this works, as it can become quite scientific, research fertility books.
2)Go With The Flow
Stop trying so hard. When dates and times and routine intercourse are overriding your thoughts and life, stop. If both you and your partner are not aware of any medical problems
