Is Soccer overrated? The answer is definitely a NO. Soccer is one of the oldest and most popular sport around the world. Some of the most prolific athletes play soccer and somewhat unite there countries under one banner during a special time, such as the World Cup. Sure, some big name players make a little too much money, but soccer is a business just like baseball, basketball, and football, so why can soccer players make some change while they play? To a certain extent, it is a much harder sport to play. On a given day, a player can run 5, 10, and up to 15 miles during one game. I don't think football players do or baseball, which is considered the most lazy sport in many spectators' minds. Soccer is a game of agility, speed, strength, awareness, and footwork. Some of the most dynamic plays are made on the soccer field. Look at teams from the World Cup, Brazil, France, Spain, Italy, all of them unite there nations, and all made the sport what it has become and what it will become in the future. To think that soccer is less important to more people than any other sports is ridiculous. Soccer reaches out to more people and affects more lives than any other sport, and to say it is overrated would be a very big mistake.
