Wicca does not have its roots in satanism. In all the literature on wicca they do not discuss any beings named Satan. The truth is that Satanism's roots are in Christianity. The most obvious reference to Satan and the one that proves my point the best is the fact that the Bible mentions Satan.
Christians' rightly or wrongly believe that any, let me emphasize this, ANY religion that is not Christian is Satanic. This stems directly from one of their commandments you know the one that says you shall have no other god before me. Add to this that they are forbidden to practice magick and witchcraft and you have the basis for this belief that any non Christian religion is Satanic.
It does not matter that these religions have their basis in doing what is right and living good wholesome lives. It does not matter that they don't even recognize that Satan exists. It does not matter that their own religion (Christianity) is the basis for Satanism. What matters to them is that everyone be like them, in other words Christian.
Satanism is a Christian Religion. It is based on the anti-thesis of Christianity and uses the persona of Christian evil as their deity. Christians love to point to Wicca and say it has its roots in Satanism but they would vehemently deny that Wicca has its roots in Christianity. How can a religion that has its roots in Satanism not have its roots in Christianity as well? Its not possible.
Since, Wicca does not have its roots in Satanism, it is quite logical to state that Wicca does not have its roots in Christianity. Since Wicca is an earth based religion that does not even acknowledge the existence of Satan it is quite illogical to state that Wicca has its roots in Satanism.
Christianity has been demonizing the deities of other religions for years and then pointing to them and saying "See they are doing the devils work". This Demonization does not make it true.
In the end I take offense to the very title of this article as it is based on lies fostered by Christians that have no clue what they are talking about. I'm sure that any critique of Wicca, by a Christian, attempting to show that the roots of Wicca are in Satanism will begin with an examination of the bible and not any of the sacred books of the Wiccan's themselves nor will they examine the sacred texts of Satanist. This point shows beyond a shadow of a doubt that the roots of Satanism is deep in the religion of Christianity and that Wicca is not rooted in either.
