The answer to this question has to be "NO". If you have seen the video of the incident you have clearly seen that Jonny Fairplay attacked Danny Bonaduce.

Danny Bonaduce would clearly be within his rights to press charges against Jonny Fairplay for assault.

Danny Bonaduce was not threatening Jonny Fairplay in any way. And was completely civil to Jonny Fairplay. Jonny Fairplay asked why the audience was booing him. Danny Bonaduce walked out on stage and simple said to Jonny Fairplay "Their booing because they hate you."

Danny Bonaduce never used the "F" word as Jonny Fairplay has stated and didn't threaten him in any manner. He turned to walk off stage and as he did so Jonny Fair play called him back. Danny Bonaduce turned around and Jonny Fairplay ran up to him and jumped on him wrapping his arms and legs around Danny Bonaduce.

Danny Bonaduce had his arms at his sides so when Jonny Fairplay jumped on him his arms ended up under Jonny Fairplay's legs. As Jonny Fairplay was squeezing Danny Bonaduce Mr. Bonaduce simply raised his arms and pushed Jonny Fairplay over his head and Mr. Fairplay hit face first on the stage floor.

To me what happened is Danny Bonaduce only defended himself from the attack of Jonny Fairplay. And if you have see the interview with Jonny Fairplay after the incident you will hear him state that "I've done it pretty much every show I've ever been on. It's a nice thing."

I do not know how Mr. Fairplay was raised but I was taught that jumping on someone with your arms and legs and squeezing them as hard as you can is not acceptable behavior. My 5 year old granddaughter has better manners then that.

Mr. Bonaduce did nothing to provoke Mr. Fairplay into attacking him. We all know about Mr. Bonaduce's reputation for hitting people but in this case in my opinion he only defended himself and I see no reason why any court would make him pay the person who attacked HIM.

I always told my kids not to start a fight and to try and avoid a fight if you can. But if someone attacks you, you have the right to defend yourself and I think Mr. Bonaduce was within his rights to do what he did.
