plan and find groups of investors to support her in opening a chain of her own restaurants.
There are many "feel-good" stories out there about young men and women who want to capture the world by storm. And these stories don't necessarily have to be about kids who are college graduates. There are those who have their masters degrees who aren't happy and change their line of work.
There are high school graduates who have excelled in the business world and rose to the top of their profession because they were determined to succeed. What about employees of company's like Bethlehem Steel and Enron that went belly-up? You have men and women in their 40s and 50s who couldn't afford to be forced into retirement. So they went back to the classroom, re-tooled their skills and landed jobs elsewhere.
From the time everyone of us uttered our first words as toddlers, we have been honing our communication and writing skills. You don't have to a Pulitzer Prize winner, but you have to be able to carry a lucid, effective conversation with your families, peers, professors and employers.
Commit to improving every day, to rising above any obstacles that may come your way. Adopt a mantra, like "I can do this," "I am a dedicated, smart worker," "I will excel in my craft." There are some great opportunities out there for everyone.
