I've been a Beatlemaniac since the Fab Four hit the American airwaves in 1963, so you probably already know whose side I'm on.
Paul, the Bouncy Beatle, won hearts all over the world in the 60s and 70s. Yes, we idolized him, and we read every scrap of news we could get concerning him and the Beatles. We read and heard all kinds of things. We heard about the drugs, we heard about the girlfriends, we heard about the arguements and the backstage fights, we heard interviews with Paul's fiance Jane Asher, and we heard interviews with Linda McCartney.
Guess what we didn't hear?
Heather Mills is saying Paul was abusive, that he was controlling. After 40 years of hearing about Paul McCartney, why are we only hearing about abuse now? Why one partner and not the others?
As a songwriter, McCartney put a lot of feeling in his songs. As McCartney's brother, pop singer Mike McGear, once said, "You want to know about his family life, you can hear it in his music." That also held true for McCartney's earlier song "I'm Looking Trough You", written after an argument with Jane Asher. Certainly there would have been some indication in his music if there were problems in his marriage with Mills.
McCartney is worth a lot of money. Mills keeps telling everyone she didn't marry him for the money. Maybe not, but it certainly looks like she's divorcing him for it.
