I live on the worst side of the city and I see strange people around all the time, especially my neighbors! Directly across the street from my house, there is an old woman, a dog, and her son (which seems to be in his late forties) live there.
One day, my husband and I were carrying our groceries from our car to the house when the old woman asked us if we wanted a watermelon. Of course we said yes (just to be nice), but it was strange because we don't know her at all. She came out of her house with the watermelon and my husband went over there to grab it and thanked her. He told me that she was very brief with him and her eyes were a gray shade and crazy looking. We go inside and the watermelon was wrapped in a plastic bag, I unwrapped it and the watermelon inside appeared to be purple! I am not an expert by all means but isn't the inside of a watermelon supposed to be red? I do recall years ago in my old neighborhood a dog that was killed by food poison and his tongue was purple...I threw the watermelon away. I wouldn't dare ask anyone I didn't know if they wanted some food even if it was safe to eat! It is very scary to know there is a demented grandma across the street watching us, oh, which brings me to her son...
I am guessing it is her son, he is much younger but far too old to be living with his mother! My husband and I are constantly outside on our front porch and we see him watching us through his window. There have been times where we see him staring at us, turning off the lights and moving the curtain aside, or watching us through his front door window. It seems like every single time we go outside, he is watching us; that is very creepy. He has talked to me before saying, "When-are-you-do?" Me being pregnant, replied, "December." I didn't want to say when in December and hurrying into my car for work having thoughts about him snatching my child away. He spoke very slow like he had a speech problem, it reminded me of the movie, "Sling Blade," and he even looks like the character too.
And the dog, when we first moved in, the old woman told us the dog's name is "Willy." He was outside most of the day and every time we would call his name to get his attention. He would always look after we yelled. We used to think he was the cutest dog. He looks like a golden retriever but his fur is white. One day, we went over there to pet him and at first he was lovable but moments later, he growled at us and started barking. His eyes were crazy looking like the old woman's, and to top it off he had a cataract in his left eye. I never call his name or talk to him anymore.
My husband and I actually agree that those people are like the "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" family. They eat humans and the dog is in charge! You never know, it is freaky!
