Like A Dream
People we meet we can forget.
Our moods can change without warning.
A surplus can turn into debt.
We grow from take-off to landing.
What we win we can later lose.
Words can fail to mirror actions.
Truth can be but a clever ruse.
Life is changing situations.
Behind cloud sun can disappear.
Rainbows appear from sun and rain.
Bravery can later turn to fear.
One's loss can be another's gain.
Like a dream life can change quickly
And very uncontrollably.
Life is like a dream of mystery,
A world of unknown destiny.
But at the moment of landing
No dream can change our life on earth.
It can arrive without warning
With memories planted after birth.
People remember charity,
Understanding and compassion.
We can strive to live life fully
Like a dream of satisfaction.

a gasping, choking thing, and then I

Every winter morning you stepped out on the lawn
and spread seeds and crumbs for mourning
Don't believe the things you hear about that final breath.
As sure as you are reading this, there IS life after death!
