As someone who grew up in Wisconsin and had family in Michigan, I am very familiar with the Great Lakes area. Offhand, I can name many ski resorts but here I would like to tell you one that I highly recommend, excellent for anyone with any level of experience. Granite Peak at Rib Mountain State Park is simply the best I have ever seen. They offer a variety of activities and I have found them to be an enjoyable and pleasant resort to do business with. Tickets are cheaper if purchased online. Ticket prices for adults are $38 for one day and $66 for two days. For children 6-12 and seniors 65+, $28 for one day and $59 for two days. For rentals, Adults (13+) Complete Ski or Snowboard Set - Standard,$30 for one day, $56 for two days. Adults (13+) Complete Ski Set - Premium $36 for one day, $68 for two days. Child (6-12) Complete Ski or Snowboard Set $24 for one day and $44 for two days. Any additional days are $6/day. Their service is high quality and it has a very unique atmosphere. Unlike most resorts that have to create a ski town, this resort has a genuine real ski town that has been there since 1937. Also included on the other side of the mountain across from Granite Peak is Nine Mile Forest, one of the top cross-country skiing facilities in Wisconsin offering 20 miles (33 km) of trails. Granite ski and Sports offers a wide variety of ski and snowboard gear, including skis from Salomon and Volkl to adult and children's clothing from Obermeyer. Also featuring souvenir sweatshirts and t-shirts, Spy and Smith goggles and sunglasses, Grandoe gloves, hats and a full range of accessories. This shop is located at the base of the Granite Peak ski area. Overall I'd give this resort a high recommendation and hope this may have provided some helpful insight on a truly excellent resort.
