then like a virus, before you know it you are receiving emails from all over the planet from people trying to sell you absolutely EVERYTHING. Even worse, imagine your email address and name getting into the hands of those evil people who hack their way into your computer and steal your identity.
In my opinion, in the majority of cases, blogs are being used to self-promote unscrupulous internet "rip-off" merchants , what's really worse, PR via blogging works like a dream. Which really does get my back up, if I'm honest. Too many blog sites have been infested by potential "internet entrepreneurs" who write crap about anything, just so they can plug their latest "scams", which must be profitable, or why else does it feel like the whole world and his brother are at it.
I know I sound mad as a hatter, and I am aware there are legitimate and honest sites out there, who have wised up to the email hoarders and internet entrepreneurs and simply banned them. Thank the Lord for that!
I enjoy writing my blogs, I know they make my family laugh when they catch up the lastest escapade from the children, I know there are genuine writers out there who love to use blogs to self-promote themselves, which is great, it costs next to nothing and the list of potential readers is staggering.
It could be a way of being discovered and how fabulous would it feel to have a publisher contact you and ask if you're interested in writing some articles for them, or even better, a book deal, or even better, accepting your screenplay. The potential is mind-blowing. If that is what we can do through a blog or three or ten, then Hallelulah! Using Blogs as PR Tools. Absolutely. Its about time.
