- Drink Green Tea daily, the organic kind, preferably bought in bulk, not oppressed and suffocated and ground up in a tiny packet. But instead, buy it loose, in bulk at any good health food store. It's full of antioxidants combating free radicals and B vitamins for energy. Have it a little on the strong side with a thin slice of raw ginger, in the morning. If you need to, add a little honey. Try the awesome Yerba Mate from guayaki.com website in San Luis Obispo, CA. This is the real stuff that I grew up drinking in SOUTH AMERICA as a child. Smokey and grassy.They get it directly from the Guayaki Indians. There are many different kinds of green tea: Young Hissan Leaves; Gunpowder - I believe these two are from China and Bancha and Sencha from Japan. All great and a little different. Each are bitter, which is a sweet blessing for your liver.
- Eat extra virgin olive oil daily with salads or drizzle on veggies. This is GOOD FAT. Great for the heart - a key component to the Mediterranean diet that is very healthy. When I lived in NYC, a Greek olive oil truck advertised that no one who had their kind of olive oil ever had heart attacks.
- Eat raw garlic daily. Raw is better for you. If you eat it with olive oil and herbs and parsley (I prefer Italian Cilantro) you won't smell it on your breath. Said to lower your blood pressure and acts as a natural antibiotic.
- Eat a few raw almonds daily. These are supposed to be anti-cancer. Good with anything, even fish.
- If you must drink coffee, mix it with organic Chicory which is a boost to your liver. Buy at health food store.
- Eat organic food as much as possible because it's not grown with polluted junk soil, pesticides, herbicides, fungicides or genetically modified seeds (ie frankenfoods). Organic food (support your local growers) is the healthiest nutrition on the planet.
- Drink milk with no more than 2% fat in it, preferably organic.
- Walk daily. If you have a hard time getting out, rescue a sweet dog or more than one, (make sure that they get along) from your local shelter, put a harness (not a collar) on your dog and take it for walks in the most gorgeous park that you can find. Treat your dog/s as you would a beloved child (which means don't be cruel and put your dog in a cage or hit it, or leave it in a car alone.
