Characteristics of a successful radio ad

Successful radio ads are short, simple, persuasive, and pleasing to the ears. These effective ads get the listeners attention and keep it long enough to make an impression on the listener.

1. Write radio ads that aread is brief, to the point, convincing, and appealing when heard.The #1 characteristic is that you want the listener to stay tuned. You don't want the listener to change the station when your commercial comes on.

2. Write tight. Every words counts in an ad that will only last 30 to 60 seconds. Use precise nouns and verbs, making less use of adjectives and adverbs. Get their attention. Then tell them why they should need or want your product or service. Tell them your phone number, web site, or address so they can get to you.

3. Be persuasive in your promotion - Tell them the benefits or what your product or service can do for them. Mention the phone number, web site, or location more than once.

4. Use word choice and sound to make your commercial sound pleasing to the ears. You'll want words that are smooth and memorable. Find a speaker with a tone of voice, cadence, and volume that is uplifting and clear as a bell.

5. Be interesting and entertaining. Listeners remember commercials that are clever and entertaining.

6. Use music or sound effects in your commercial to be be pleasing to the ears.

7. Use repetition to be convincing and memorable without being annoying.

A successful radio ad is short, simple, persuasive, and pleasing to the ears. Get your listeners' attention, tell them why they should be interested. Describe the benefits of your product or service and how they can purchase your product or arrange for your service.
