First thing for the parents is not to panic or lose confidence on their child as this can be cured with proper training and medication.
Parents need to know that their children can be successful than any normal child with proper initial care given to the child. A baby learns more from 0-6 years and this is the period were you can correct this disability. Only in rare cases does the child fail to recover from learning disability. Steps to follow:
Proper Diagnosis:
First the parents need to have the child properly examined and get to know the complete list of things to be taken care for such a child. Like physiothrapy, training for brain development etc. Many neurologists are there in the world and with advances in medical field diagnosis can be done easily.
Immediate Treatment:
Without hesitating the parents should start treatment for the child. With timely treatment the child can be cured very easily and quickly.
No different from a normal child:
Children with learning disability is no different from a normal child except that they take time to learn things. The cases can be like the child cant learn symbols easily or gets confused while reading or writing words. Example the child would say 'cut' and write 'gut'. Studies have proved that children with learning disabilities actually proved to have more IQ than normal child.
When you provide them extra care without thinking them as burden it can solved soon. Its as simple as this instead of giving such a child a toy to play with you'll sit with him and ask him to work out some puzzles and give him some mental exercise.
Where there is a will there is a way. Afterall they're God's gift too!
