Forgiveness and your healing journey

by Nevada

Mirrored Image

The time has come to stand before the mirror and a good long look at the damaged soul that stares back at you. The person that is standing before you, In pain. Asking for your forgiveness. You must see what you want to become, you must have a vision, a hope for the future for this person. Faith is the absence of things not seen. Do you have hope and faith for the person who is looking back at you? Do you dare to start to uncover the darkness? To shed light on the painful past? Piecing together memories of a life gone by you can begin to unravel the details of your life. Begin by uncovering the secrets so long ago buried, the boxes and crates of dusty, faded memories of days gone by. We have a way of hiding away the past, both hurtful and joyous for the purpose of our sanity and our memoirs.

"To forgive is to set a prisoner free and to discover that this prisoner is you"
There is no revenge as complete as forgiveness for body and soul. Stand back and take stock about your feelings towards forgiveness. Who do you want to extend your forgiveness to? Do you feel as though you need to get even? Are you still angry? Do you understand where they are coming from? Do you see their good points? Can you pray for them and ask God to bless them? Do you feel peace? Live like they don't exist?
Reach beyond yourself, and work with God to forgive. You will feel caring, compassionate and acceptance towards this person and what had transpired.
Forgiveness is a wonderful gift that you can give to anyone. You can give it at anytime, with no strings attached. This gift is one of the healthiest gifts that you can give for it gives just as much to the giver as to the receiver.
I have also learned that activism means to take action, usually for a cause that one is passionate about. It can also mean to take action for ones own self. To dare to look deeply into ones life and reflect on what is working and what is not. Are we doing our souls work or the work of others?
What is my own sacred activism? Our mission. Our gifts to give, and that we give with a pure heart full of love. To give without expecting anything in return.
If you are going to relinquish yourself to a lifetime of health and happiness you must know how to not only forgive yourself your many failures, but how to forget them as well. So, how do we forget?
Practice mentally the skill of forgetting so that you could move forward to a bright future. One where you would not be burdened by a sense of loss and failure.
"Forgetting also helps me to forgive myself, giving me the passion for a vivid future"
Release the other person from your judgment and then you can work on forgetting it as well.
Our challenges and mistakes may be emotional, financial, intellectual, sexual and physical. Exposure of our private lives will harm and slow down our healing in forgiving and forgetting.
In the end, or should I say the beginning. You will come to the place where you can accept your past, find forgiveness, find inner peace, and put the damaging years and pains behind you. There will be a wonderful world of joy and hope awaiting for you in this new world of forgiving and forgetting.
