I think we are all living in a state of false complacency. These terrorists are as patient as they are cunning. I live in the south of England, where a huge number of terrorist related incidents get reported only locally or nationally. The world probably didn't see the hard-line Muslim school that the authorities tried to close down. There were health and safety issues as well as a long line of jihad inspiring mentors attending over the years. It is a secluded old English estate set in a vast acreage of land. Most of us didn't know it existed. Despite the best efforts of the local councils and police it remains open.It is eerily as if they are above UK law, which many Muslims believe they are, and appear at this point in history, to be correct.
Our police raid suspects, and thanks to some extremely stupid governing over the last decade, our police get sued and our over tolerant, too scared to say or do the wrong thing, European human rights policy prevails. Even though police have good reason to do these raids, the laws of the country give the terrorists free defense in court and cost the country millions of pounds. We learned yesterday, (05/11/07) that we have boot camps aimed at young teenagers to join in their 'Holy War', right here in the UK. Teaching jihad and how to kill, make bombs, and use weapons against the non-believers. So forgive me for thinking we have been lucky to have so few terrorist attacks, and sadly I think our luck, may soon run out.....
