I understand that it may seems like a dream come true for many when blogging is "open" and available to anyone and everyone who wishes to write and get published for the whole internet world to see and read. Writers no longer need to go through the red tape of hiring agents and submitting drafts to editors and publishers for approval. These days, folks may not even need to learn difficult html codes or scripts or design to start a blog.

Nevertheless, I would think twice before quitting my day job just for blogging. To earn from blogging consistently takes years of marketing and promoting. It is really not just a matter of sitting down and tapping away at the keyboard. Even sites that are designed for bloggers to earn such as payperpost and blogsvertise have requirements for blogs to be at least a few months old and well maintained to be approved.

Ah, what about advertisements? Well, one of the main revenue for bloggers is from Adsense or content related links. Unless one is thinking about making 10 or more blogs, it is really not that easy to earn the $100 minimum for payout monthly. Then again there is the Search Engine Optimization (SEO) which is a whole new ball game in getting your blog or site seen by others. Without traffic and visitors to your blogs, you won't get paid by Google or any company for the matter. Individual advertisers may come but they are few and far in between to make a substantial income to leave your day job for.
