Our digestive tract acts like a filter for toxins. It sifts through everything we put into our mouths, sucking what nutrients and energy it can out of our food, fueling our bodies and eliminating the waste out of the rest. But, the filter gets clogged after repeated use. And really, how can it not get clogged, what with all of the junk and unhealthy stuff we ask it to filter? It is a system designed to filter fruits, vegetables and lean meats and we are feeding it cakes, refined sugar and flour and fast food.
A healthy human system is designed to eliminate waste daily through a bowel movement. In this way, the digestive tract eliminates digested food waste and keeps the undigested food waste, or mucoid plaque that builds up on the intestines, to a minimum. This plaque that builds up can get to such an extreme that it can weigh astronomical amounts, up to forty pounds in one case! High fiber diets and daily bowel movements are meant to slough this plaque off before it has a chance to build up and cause problems, like weight gain or twisting of the intestines.
To stop the toxin buildup and get rid of all this undigested putrefied food in your body, you can start a detoxification program. The first step is to change your diet. Begin with a transition to mostly raw fruits and vegetables with few or no cooked or processed foods. This high fiber content will allow your body to naturally start to scrub away the built up mucoid plaque and not allow your body to produce any additional plaque.
To begin the next, more intense step of the cleanse, which will likely include parasite cleansing and Probiotics to replace healthy bacteria that you will lose in this process, you will probably need to visit the health food store. You will need to get some herbs, namely Cascara, Sagrada, flax seed or slippery elm. And, you will need some psyllium, which is fiber. The combination of these items will make for an intense fiber infusion that will likely have you visiting the restroom frequently. But, it will certainly rid your body of built up waste that is keeping your system from functioning properly. The Probiotics will help replenish your system with the healthy bacteria that keep your GI tract working in a healthy balance. The standard bowel cleanse will contain fasting on water and juice, raw veggies and fruits, Probiotics, psyllium husks or seeds, flax seeds, bentonite clay (acting as a bulk laxative) and a salt water enema.
