60 years young and want to celebrate your birthday. My mom turns 60 this very year and I plan to have a "This is Your Life" type of party. I know some of you will say BO-RING!, but I'm doing it a different way. A way to pay homage or share a deep respect for the person my Mom has become.
Every single thing will be taken from a moment in her life. For example, the food is going to be Hawaiian because she once went on a cruise there.

She has beautiful pictures from when she was 18 and 21 years old that I know she is proud of. The music is going to be a mixture from every year of her life. There won't be an over the hill moment at all. This is a celebration instead of using this party as a "joke on you". No embarrassing photos or moments to relive. My intention is just to have all the good times rolled into one party. I doubt she'll have another one quite like this. These are the things you do when you love someone as I love my Mother.

Most people think once you get a certain age you become "too old" to do certain things. To me that's just a straight unlaced cop-out. I want people to enjoy themselves no matter what your age is. There simply is no excuse for letting life pass you by and that includes birthdays. It's not just another day anymore. It's THE most important day and will be treated as such-well this year anyways. After all, without her there would be no me.
