Toy stores are often where collections start and there is no reason not to supplement your stockpile with modern toys. After time passes many of your purchases can grow to be quite valuable.

Flea markets, garage and estate sales often hold hidden treasures. For bargain collectors or those who seek unspecified action figures this can be very lucrative. Perhaps some teen off to college is looking to unload a few boxes of Batman toys. You just never know what you might find at either of these venues.

On line auctions are a good place to check frequently for good deals on specific figures. If you know precisely what you are looking for but can't find it anywhere else, this sort of market will open you up to thousands of sellers. With perseverance you are likely to find your missing hero at less cost than you expected.

Closeouts and clearance sales are also a great way to expand. Often toys will sell for a mere dollar. You can buy several of the same type at prices like that. These sales of course happen less often so when the chance comes up stop by and see what you can find.

Specialty stores, catalogs and clubs will likely provide you with more costly investments. Make certain you research any of your more expensive purchases. At these markets you will be dealing with people that know a great deal about what they are selling and the process of collecting in general. Know as much as you can to avoid paying too much.
