It's lovely having parties when your children are young, but there so much hard work. The real fun starts when they get into the teenage years. Here are a few favorites.
1. Cinema trip. It's essential to let them choose the film. Instead of the babyish party bags, let them loose in the cinema shop. I know it's not too healthy but sweets, popcorn and soda help a teen party along. You can follow it with a meal at your son's favorite place.
p.s. Your son may not want you to tag along. Respect him, even if it means you sit outside and wait in the car.
2. BBQ Party. Go for hot dogs, burgers, kebabs. Have some music and video games on hand. You can even go for fireworks if you want to push the boat out.
3. Ten pin bowling. My son loved this one. For his thirteenth birthday we took him and a small group of friends ten pin bowling. We booked three games and then gave each of them some money to spend in the arcade area. We had a meal in the on site restaurant. Everyone had a great time. I remember thinking we'd made a huge mistake and his friends would hate it. During that year my son went to at least six bowling parties. We had obviously started a trend.
4. Theme parks. Buy the ticket and let them loose. A guaranteed 100% success.
5. Adventure day - Go karting, white-water rafting, paintballing... There are loads of website that specialize in this type of activity day. Prices can be quite basic or extremely expensive. The choice is yours.
I hope I've giving you some idea's here. Talk with you son. Get him to give you ideas. Teens usually have a very strong idea about what they want.
