THIS RESTLESS HIGHWAY

everywhere I've been
it's hard to find a friend
with fate cast to the wind
once again

now it's another new town
same ol' sun going down
i wouldn't listen to my Mom and Dad
now it's a different kind of life

with motel rooms and broke down cars
dim lights and smoky bars
wish I could see my kids

this restless highway's

got a gig in Abilene tomorrow tonight

4 a.m., engine stalls

where the pay is thin
