Spiritual self-being explored

Human capacity,

Have you ever wondered why some people seem to be very advanced, both in character, and intellect, and why some folks still seem to have one foot still in the cave?

We watch the news, and read the daily papers, and we hear of great works of heroism, kindness, and generosity. And unfortunately we are also made aware of unspeakable acts of terror, violence, and genuine deeds of inhumanity. Why is the human race so conflicted? People in general want to do the right thing, so why can't we seem to pull together, and operate for the greater good of the species? Human slavery, poverty, hunger, are all problems that still exist in what we call a " civilized " society. On a smaller scale, why has the family unit broken down? And our youth's are growing up without the slightest idea of the concepts of discipline, and self-respect?

There is an old saying " before one can truly find them self, one must truly lose them self. And this is what is happening in our world today. In this age, our wants far out weigh, our true needs, and this has caused a " watering down " effect in the worlds population. True strength of character has been diluted, so that most of the authentic role models have disappeared, leaving the masses without a sense of identity, and true purpose. I say " a sense" of loss of identity, and purpose. Because we have not really lost our identities, we just feel that we do not know whom we are, and what we are suppose to do. Conflicts, disintegrating social, family and personal ethics are only symptoms of a much larger type of insecurity. A fear that only comes from a mass question of " who a I?

But even our eroding moral, and social values do not explain why the human race is so diverse in its capacity for fellowship, and degradation. So what makes the world's men, and woman such complex critters? Genetics play the first role, as it is reasonable to assume that a person produced from a strong gene pool will be more intelligent, and adaptable. While poor genes will produce a more limited individual, with limited character, and emotional content. This type of person is more prone to violence, and cruelty, much like our 42,000-year-old ancestors. Keep in mind that humanity is still a very young race by the measure of other species on this planet.

Environment is another factor of human diversity, as a child growing up from a background of pain, and fear, will most likely hold that insecurity close to him\her, and will often become a stumbling
