Great list of games. Games can help develop brain power. They are good review for adults, and a good way to help the elderly learn new skills and retain old ones. they can be use to entertain kids and help keep them out of trouble.
There are many games on -line, but some are expensive, virus laden, or just plain too annoying to play. Have a look around the net. Here are some suggestions to get you started.

This is a great website, free and very cheap. The free games are many, fun, and are added to every so often. There is bound to be something for everyone. The few games reserved for paying members are very cheap, and have badges, little images that indicate an expertise or meeting a challenge. They have online, and a few buy and play offline. For the best off line, see big fish below. AOL. All board games ( http://www.gamefools.com/ ) is an offshoot, as is world winner. Scroll down to the bottom of the pogo website. World winner is a mostly paid game, costing about a dollar a game or more, with money prizes if you win.

BIG FISH http://www.bigfishgames.com/
This is an all time, award winning, favorite of mine paid site. Yes the games are pricey, but you can get game club credits that make the games very cheap, the cheapest I have found. Plus, there customer service is awesome, as in any problems that arise from having an old crappy computer and you get a free coupon for a free games. I absolutely love this site. And they have a new release every day.

GAME FOOLS http://www.gamefools.com/
They have a few games big fish doesn't have, but no cheaper discounts that I found, and I only downloaded one game. They are good, but hard to say if they are as good as big fish.

If you want more, go to any search engine,. Type in word games, and click the carious suggestions. There are no end to sites that offer free games, but the three above are the ones I play and recommend, and have never given me any problems.
