Movie reviews: Spiderman 3

"The Spidey-Conclusion"

After going to see Spider-Man 3 in the theaters, I must say that I was very pleased with how they wrapped the whole series. I won't give away too much of the film's plot away, but let's just say that the door is left open for a fourth film, and I've heard Tobey Maguire will return for it. Just to relieve the fans worries.

I first became interested in Spider-Man (which was created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko in 1962) when I would watch the old cartoons, and also the live action show (which starred Nicholas Hammond who is best known for playing Friedrich von Trapp in "The Sound of Music"), and reading many of the comics. So this character, along with Superman & Batman is one of my favorite comic book heroes. Since following the Tobey Maguire films, I must say they certainly done their best to stay true to the character. So I definately wanted to see this film.

With Spider-Man 3, Peter Parker has finally decided on settling down with Mary Jane Watson(played by the very beautiful Kirsten Dunst who will always be remembered as Tom Cruise's little co-star in the film Interview with the Vampire)now that she knows he's actually Spider-Man. Of coarse, there's also a new girl in Peter's life named Gwen Stacy (played by sexy Bryce Dallas Howard who's best known from films like "The Village" and "Lady in the Water"). The character of Gwen Stacy (if your a fan of the comic book, you know about her fate) is given a small role, but she does play a part in personal battle with himself.
However, Peter still has issues to resolve. Especially, with his friend Harry Osborn (played very nicely by James Franco). In the first film, Harry believed Spider-Man was responsible for the death of his father (played by Willem Dafoe who appears in all 3 films). Although, Harry didn't know the circumstances surrounding his death since. Especially, since his father was the original Green Goblin. In the second film, Harry discovers Peter's secret identity, and discovers one of his father's old Goblins suits. Which leads to this film where Harry and Peter duke it out above the streets of New York (just as Peter is about to propose to Mary Jane). Let's just say with great CGI effects, this battle is very epic. Especially, when the characters slam themselves into buildings.

Besides the new Green Goblin, Spider-Man has 2 (well 3 if you think of it) new adversaries.

The Sandman (played with a great deal of sincerity by Thomas Haden Church) is a crook trying to steal money
