What Is Behind Racism
Racism is something that no matter how much time goes by, will always be around in one form or another. It is behind almost all violence in some form. We say we are not racist, yet we make fun of those that are mentally and physically disabled or people of a lesser income or sometimes higher income. We judge people we think aren't making right choices by our own standards. We make fun of or comments against people who are drug addicts, alcoholics, poverty stricken. If we eliminated all the things that we felt were not right in the world, nothing would even exist. We are creatures of habit, fighting each other instead of fighting for things we should be fighting for.
What I feel is really behind racism these days is the fear of things or people we do not understand. The fear of change, the fear of accepting things we just don't believe. The disillusionment that if these things were different, the world would be a better place. Well, the only way anthing will get any better is to stop trying to change the things we feel don't belong, to accept that nothing or nobody is perfect. To just try and not judge everything we feel is wrong.
The way things are today will not change in the future unless we learn to accept everything and everyone as they are. Let things be the way they are and not continue to judge everything that we come by. We must set a good example for our children.
