We were very happy together. We were committed to keeping our relationship healthy. We communicated. We were in each other's corners.

Things happened. Some of those things that happened were out of our control. Some were in our control. Our fights began to last longer. We began to give up on each other. We slowly stopped being in each others corner.

We came to a breaking point in our relationship. We both decided for whatever reason that it was no longer worth the effort to continue on together.
We parted ways. He became my ex. I became his ex.

Time went by. I discovered it was lonely without him in my corner. I decided to do something about it. I decided to take a look at the things that we let come between us. I did some serious soul searching.

I decided at some point to make some changes in me. I began to put forth an effort again. I began communicating with my ex again.

Lucky for me my ex had decided that what we had had together was worth fighting for too.

Together we started on a journey back to each other. It took some time. It took commitment. It took effort on both our parts. Is our relation perfect now, hell no. We still have our struggles, but we work it out.

I guess it boils down to whether you feel your relationship is worth working out. For me it was well worth it.
