Poetry: Life after death

There's Coming A Day

I'm preparing for a trip to a Heavenly site,
don't know if it will come day or night.
I want to ride the clouds to a Heavenly place,
as God stands waiting by the Pearly Gates.

Many people laugh when I say I'm going on a trip,
look, and say, "Are you sure you haven't flipped?"
Liquid comes to my eyes as they say hurtful things,
when God calls out, they'll wish for a pair of wings.

I try to reach out and touch others lives,
oft times, I'm ignored and not treated right.
A day is coming...they'll think back of me,
wishing they had wings to fly along in glee.

Some people believe life is an endless thing,
as they live their lives like queens and kings.
They don't believe there's a Great I Am,
believing religion is only one big scam.

I'll never give up my faith in Him,
He's my confident, my peace, and my friend.
He guides me through darkness into the light,
easing my pains, hurts, and all my strife.

There's coming a day...we'll make this joyous trip,
they'll think about the times they thought I'd flipped.
I'll rise up in the clouds to meet God at the Heavenly Gate,
I'm in the offering for this reunion upcoming date.
