Meaning of Life

How we think about time: Philosophical and practical implications

Time can be so complicated can't it? It's measured in efforts, and perhaps success or lack of it. Can we be so sure that time spent for one maybe wasted by others? Our self worth gauges part of this phenomenon.

Time changes who we are, who we where, and life experiences justify the term "with age comes wisdom."

We all have an appointment with death, and we don't know the hour, time, or year. Destiny is always unknown. Our lives take on so many meanings, and we follow so many twists and turns that change who we are.

I feel personally that we compete against time, we burn ourselves out trying to be the best at everything, and sometimes "time" and selfishness, can neglect our children, our poor, and thus time is only focused on us.

We hit 40, time is flying faster, and faster, we try to regain our youth. We exercise, have affairs, plastic surgery, go to church more, because time is slipping away.

The clock keeps ticking. "Tick tock", "tick tock"However, our search continues for nothing more than happiness, and need to feel important. We somehow feel the need have made a mark before we leave this world.

Perhaps, we all need to slow down a bit. Stop and notice your neighbor, run naked through a waterfall, laugh with your partner like you used to. Measure life in happiness, not success. Money doesn't make people happy. It's people that make people happy. Throw the egos and caution to the wind! Quit competing with time. Do kind acts for others from your heart, not to gain status, but to give the kind act of "time" to another.

We never know when time is on our side. Share, give, live, and enjoy your time. Give time to others, make a difference even if it's in small act of kindness, you never know when a small gesture of your "time" may of saved someone elses "time" here on earth.

Think about what legacy you want leave behind through TIME. "Tick tock", "Tick tock"Time is wasting!
