Kobe Bryant should be the MVP this season

Kobe Bryant, the MVP for the current NBA season? Well first of all, I would have to say no because it is too early to predict only after a few games have been played. While he did do well in his opener (45 points on 13 of 32 from the field), we can't forget that Tracy McGrady poured in 47 points in the Rockets opener of the season and his team won. Another reason why I would say he would not be this season's most valuable player is because of the way he has handled all of the trade rumors. No matter how unhappy you may be with your situation, I believe that you should keep whatever problems and/or disagreements you have with management private rather than any portion being revealed to the media. I do not believe that this is how a most valuable player should handle this kind of situation. If you can remember when Shaquille O'Neal was traded from the Lakers, he was quite dissatisfied to say the least especially since he had a big part to play in bringing in Karl Malone the previous year but he never really aired out his disappointment with the media and he didn't really talk about his dissatisfaction with the situation and avoided any and all questions pertaining to that subject. There is no question that Bryant is one of the most prolific players of our time and as of last season he accomplished the second highest total in history (81) second only to Wilt Chamberlain's 100 point performance, but I do not think that he will be the MVP of this season. In addition to the reasons above, I think there are other players who may not be as flashy as Kobe but who do as much for their teams as he does for the Lakers, if not more. Think about where Phoenix would be without Steve Nash or the Mavericks without the Dirk who is considered the most versatile big man of in the game today, or Tim Duncan who has average around 20 points and 10 rebounds for the Spurs throughout his entire career and that team is much different without him in the lineup as well. So to close out this posting I would agree with everyone in saying that Kobe is a great player and will be a force to be reckoned with throughout the remainder of his career I would have a difficult time agreeing with that he should be named MVP of this season.
