If you want a romantic break then the chances are that you will not be traveling alone. A break such as this may be your chance to get away from the everyday hustle and bustle of life and to spend some quality time with your loved one.

Whether you are with a new lover, how exciting, or hoping to rekindle the fire in the bellies of yourself and your long term partner or spouse, a bed and breakfast can be the ideal setting to help you fulfill your desires as well as your wander-lust.

Some bed and breakfasts will already be romantic. They may be established in a beautiful setting or have a wonderful old four poster bed made of carved oak. Depending on your budget you could do a little ground work and head for the best that you can afford as a special treat for yourself and your partner.

Even if you cant afford the bridal suite or a very wonderful room, you can make sure that you take some special items with you to your destination that will help set the mood that you want to create.

For full on heart fluttering and a warm glow consider popping these items into your suitcase.

1. A long flowing lace or satin nightdress for a lady and a 1930's style classy smoking jacket for a gentleman.

2. A bottle of champagne. You can arrange for the bed and breakfast to provide you with an ice bucket to chill this in, or fill a receptacle with some cold water and sprinkle rose petals into it before putting in your bottle to keep cool.

3. Some long stemmed champagne flutes.

4.Some decadent nibbles to lounge around eating in-between intimate moments when you need sustenance.

Foods which are suitable are those which you can eat cold as a carpet picnic in your room such as olives, dark chocolates and strawberries and cream.

5. Either a silk scarf to place over a lamp, although make sure that it doesn't get too hot, or some scented candles. If you choose the latter then also bring proper candle holders to place them in. This will make them safer to use as well as having the benefit of looking good.

6. The most luxurious bubble bath which you can afford. A romantic bath is just not the same without them.

7. A portable music player so that you can dance together. Whether it is Matt Munroe or Zydeco which tickles your toes, dancing always helps to ignite passion when you are with the right person!

8. Classic romantic poetry. There is just something so sexy about someone who you fancy allot reading beautiful words to you.

9. Massage oil. I have never met anyone who doesn't enjoy the feeling of a massage from someone that they love. It can both relax and wake you up in all of the right places at the same time. What a clever invention.

Enjoy your getaway and make it extra romantic by not telling anyone else where you are going so that they don't disturb you!
