In the fight for the title of the most annoying co-worker, I believe that the tattletale and the gossip are both strong contenders. Whatever the job at hand may be, either one of these types of personalities can be frustrating, irritating, and even slightly maddening to work with. Unfortunately for anyone who desires to make any type of living, it is a given that one or both of these types of people will end up working by your side, maybe even on a day-to-day basis (unless you are one of the lucky few who can work from home).

However, one must be deemed more annoying than the other. I am very young, and have yet to even step foot in an office setting. Yet I have been fortunate (or unfortunate?) enough to have "tasted the fruits" of a large variety of jobs. From being an usher, to a cashier, restaurant host, paid tutor, babysitter, election judge, and even a caddy, I have experienced many trades, and all before starting my higher education. Though all these jobs have been tremendously different, in all of them I have had to work with people that I just did not like.

The constant criticism and analysis of individuals who you may never had any desire to go past the relationship of "co-worker" with can be awkward, maybe even demeaning. Again, no one wants to talk about something that they do not feel is their place to talk about. Sadly, the gossip has no inhibitions on who or what they talk about, putting you in a sore spot with no way out (except confronting the problem (gasp!) an idea nobody enjoys entertaining).

The tattletale is not any better, however. While the gossip delves for facts and fictions about anyone and everyone that they can find, the tattletales take it upon themselves to target those who understand that in any form of employment, applying yourself fully to the task at hand is not exactly common, and shortcuts are a useful commodity. But the tattletale decides that divulging any
