Africa can eradicate poverty and raise the general prosperity of the continent in ten years, just like it happened in India and China.
This can be achieved by investing in Africa so that business becomes profitable and sustainable to generate further investment.
However, the investment must be pro-poor and pro-consumer, like my African Home stay pro-poor tourism enterprise that ensures that income generated from tourism directly benefits the locals and not the brokers' and foreigners.
Investment in Africa must not exploit the poor but must create the basis for the poor to come out of poverty. Enterprises in Africa need to develop products and services that are affordable to Africans by using technology that reduces the cost of production ,like use of solar energy(Sub-Saharan Africa gets sunlight 12 hours a day through out the year!).
Investment in Africa needs to be pro-development with emphasis on human capacity development, investment in education and skills (especially information technology) transfer.
It is my belief that for Africa to prosper, African development efforts must be geared towards partnerships with skills, private sector business, academia, governments and local communities.
Africa has all the natural and human resources to overcome poverty.
