Is cheap wine any good to drink . That is all a matter of opinion and down to the individual . What you look for in a wine might be different to what another person looks for in a wine . A long time ago I thought that slightly sweet wine was the best that I could get and did not like dry wine at all . Now if given a choice a good red wine dry and full of fruit and tannin will do me just fine . That is the first thing that happens when you start to drink wine . Your pallet changes the more you drink . By that I do not mean the drunker you get the better it tastes , but that can happen . But as you try different kinds of wine you pick up on subtle differences .

None of this tell you weather cheap wine is good to drink or not . The answer to me is a simple one . One what do you call a cheap wine . I know that to some people to spend about ten pounds on a bottle of wine from a supermarket is cheap . To others to spend more than five pound is expensive . To me the question is not that of cost but of value . I do know of some store where I go and they are not what you would call expensive . For these store I will list as Netto and Aldi. The store are known for buying in bulk stacking in it high and selling it cheap . I know that some people will not shop in them as they are worried what people will think if they are seen coming out of the stores .I do not care if I am seen coming out as I do not have any reputation to worry about and I will champion the store for what can be called good value for what you get . It is true that you can some times buy a three liter bottle of white cider from the store for less than two pounds and if you are going to drink things like that it is not about preheating the flavor of the drink but getting the affect of the drink . Also I do know of a couple who do swear that the Cava that they have purchased is perfect for party's . In fact they have told me a pint of Cava gets the party started . Once more that is more to with the affect of the alcohol than the appreciation of the taste . But in the shops you can find reasonable cheap wine that is good to drink . Now I will not go as far to say that it will turn the heads of the connoisseur who will know doubt not entertain the thought of drinking the stuff . But it is to my mine good wine . You can drink most of it quite easily and it is very palatable . Also very affordable . Most of the wine does com in under the five pounds mark witch is very cheap in deed .
