There are rules set in place for studying the Bible but who put those rules in place and who's to say that they're right? It seem that the most significant thing about these rules is that they were all set in place by man.
What does the Bible itself say about how to study the Bible? And the Scriptures are able to make you wise - is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness'. (2 Timothy 3:15).
The original word for are able' is dunamis', which actually means has the power'! So the Bible is not merely able'; it is empowered by God to interact with you! This is because it was written by the Holy Spirit of God and when you genuinely seek in the Bible for meaning, it will by given to you - by the Almighty God!
So the Bible truthfully says of itself, that it has the power' to teach - and for those who are taught by God (John 6:45), this is the main, but not the sole, instrument of instruction. God's student is likely to discover that the Bible is not merely a great book among many books; but that it is a powerfully interactive manual and its capabilities surpass that of any computer programme or CD-ROM in existence today.

To decide to disregard the Old Testament is to close the door, by your own choosing, on one of the greatest experiences that life has to offer.
The whole of the Bible is of the spiritual realm, which is the Kingdom of God. Anything not mentioned specifically in the Bible, is not connected to religion, and is thus not spiritually important. This includes things of great significance to us in our times, but which have no relevance religiously speaking, like the pyramids, World Wars One & Two, the atomic bomb, etc.
The Bible does not teach us the things that we don't need to know. Instead it teaches us the facts that are absolutely vital to us. It relates specific information, which we need to know to live this life, leading to the next level of existence. For us to concentrate on anything else is to
