I grew up watching Bugs Bunny, Elmer Fudd, the Road Runner, and Wile E Coyote; and laughing each time that pesky coyote tried his next great invention from the Acme company to capture the speedy Road Runner. Occasionally my Dad would watch as well and we would laugh at the antics together. Later one Saturday while at my Dad's house a third generation of the clan joined the fun and we all had our laughs.
Elmer Fudd was always trying to get that wascally wabbit but he did not suffer the continual torture suffered by the venerable Wile E Coyote with each and every sketch and usually more than once in a program. Poor Wile E never seemed to learn nor did he ever give up. The Acme company had an answer to every problem encountered by our lovable Wile E coyote; but, alas they all failed each and every time usually causing Wile E some form of harm in the process.
While that small cartoon character with a bald head and speech impediment saw his efforts end in embarrassment; our lovable furry friend was being squashed, flattened, hit, smashed, run over, and any other manner of destruction with his every attempt to capture the fast moving feathered friend.
Compared to what Wile E Coyote suffered each week the wascally wabbit hunting Elmer Fudd's life was a piece of cake. At one time Bugs Bunny and his friends was removed from the television line up because the show was deemed to be too violent. And a great deal of that so called violence was due to the weekly antics of our furry little friend Wile E Coyote.
