Well, the answer to this is quite simple. Has their ever been an instance in which "race" did indeed play a factor to getting into college(s). Has their been a case whereas a "race" of people were denied the chance to attend a college because of the color of their skin, a color of skin no human being on earth has chosen?
The answer is apparent. Racism would dictate every aspect of the lives of those affected. To ask this question somehow insinuates that college admissions would be immune to this Racism, this self-hating form of hate, which tells me "someone" is denying the very existence of this racism.
To pose a question as the one captioned, insinuates that race has never been a factor. "RACE" has already been a consideration for college admissions, but the "race" is "white. So, I am a tad bit baffled as to the reason this question is posed.
When jews existed in Germany during the reign of Hitler, no one would have asked to what extent this hate would affect jews. Common sense would tell you that jews, as a collective in germany, were denied every aspect of German life, every opportunity denied them which other Germans freely enjoyed. No one made exceptions and "buts" when it were jews being treated in Germany as they were. No one compromised on the "Anti-Semitism" that jews experienced in Germany.
Why is it then, this question is posed concerning Black people in America. Why wouldn't the racism that Blacks in this country are subjected to, from our first introduction to this land in slave chains, why would this racism stop when it comes to college admissions?
And it is this very denial of this racism, which still has it live and thrive in American society. It's these compromises and "buts" which has this hate still exist in this country.
And you wonder why the Iraqi's are fighting America so hard to NOT BE LIKE THEM?
It would be amusing, if it weren't so tragic.
