What is religion and what is it all about?

between God and man, not memorized lessons or sermons. In many ways our modern 'Christianity' has become just another of the many religious traditions man has developed in an attempt to explain God. It has all but lost its special place as the Bride of Christ. But God has communicated with man, and continues to do so. First by creating us with a deep inborn desire to seek Him, then by speaking directly to us through the prophets, later by His Son living among us as one of us, and last by His Holy Spirit; which will lead all, Jew and Gentile, saved and lost, to the salvation of Christ and through Him a true understanding of God.

The way is not barred to those who follow a different path. The early Church decided this when they proclaimed 'Let those who are Jews remain Jews and Greeks remain Greeks' Paul taught the Greeks about the unknown God , he didn't demand they become Jewish. There was never a requirement to adhere to a set dogma before someone could accept Christ and receive the Holy Spirit. It was the place of the Holy Spirit to lead them into all truth.

There is a huge difference between religious faith and religious dogma. We all share a common faith if we truly seek our Creator. Our religious doctrines, traditions, and dogma separate us and turn brothers into enemies. But I am not advocating we abandon our traditions for some new universalist religion. As Paul said, we are one body with many members . But we should look more toward what we share than that which divides us. All those who diligently seek God are on the same road to the same place. There is only One Way, but we may find that path from many different directions.
