that 'Abraham knew me and was glad'.
Now we see my assertion that all religious traditions are equally valid is based on the fact that in their most basic precepts, religious archetypes, they show these three common ideas, the Holy Trinity of Christian faith, and therefore led man to a understanding of God the Father, the Holy Spirit, and Christ the Son. Not that all adherents to those belief systems ever find or understand those precepts, I'm not even convinced all professing Christians ever truly understand the mystery of the Trinity. Many of the people who fill the pews and offering plates can not truly be called 'saved': Remember what was said about the Church of Sardis in Revelations Rather, my assertion is based on the idea that our innate religious capacity emanates from these three archetypes and from there our religions and philosophies give substance to them.
It is my own personal belief that the Christian tradition is the most accessible of the many belief system. By that I mean the easiest for man to understand. In it we have all three archetypes clearly defined. It is not a system invented by man to try and explain spiritual insights but a direct communication between God and man, with the Son appearing in flesh and living out his role as Redeemer. Yet as the magi found in their astrology the sign of his coming, and came to worship him , so can those of other faiths, if they are truly seeking, find him. Just as Abraham knew Him, and David wrote of Him in the Psalms long before his earthly birth. (The seeming contradiction of Christs birth at a certain time and place in history compared with Christ's preexistence from the beginning is a matter of temporal mechanics that I will not get into here.)
There are those that will argue from scripture that there is only one 'way' have a valid point and I have wrestled with those scriptures. But I am not opening new avenues of salvation only saying the way has always been open, even before Christ's earthly birth in time and space, to those who sought for him. I am thoroughly convinced that David was 'saved by grace' from what he wrote in the Psalms. Some might argue that David was a prophet and thus saw the future coming of Christ, yet I believe he had an intimate knowledge of the Son and Redeemer in his own life.
The church has become exclusionary over the centuries as faith became religious tradition and personal knowledge and experience became dogma and proselytization. True faith is a personal relationship
