Everyone has their own definition of hearing impaired people. My diagnose is hearing impaired and I have my own definition. I'm deaf. No, I am proudly Deaf! I would not tell you if I do have my own hearing aids or not, but I only am telling you what is important between pros and cons of hearing aids. Hearing aids are designed to improve the sound quality for people with hearing loss. Between hearing impaired and hearing loss is a quite similar, but different concept.
Pros:
- It helps you to sense the sounds.
- It allows you to volume the sounds you desire.
- It guides you through inner ear any sound you able to recognize.
- It is good for people with hearing loss (ages may change)
- It always has been updating since 80's.
- Some models come with recharge battery, easy to use.
Cons:
- It is not good for deaf people due to unable to recognize any sensitive sound.
- It causes you to unable to identify clear words from speaking.
- It has its own limits where you cannot volume anymore or it burns out based on your usage.
- It is easily damaged whenever your minor accidents happen.
- Using the battery often for your hearing aids device.
- Some models do not come with recharge battery.
Hearing impaired is recognized as hearing failure, unable to hear everything, but only some sounds either low or high pitch. Hearing loss is how much percentage your hearing loses. This is a different concept how you identify people with hearing aids and how you think of the importance of working with technology in either success or fail. For example, it works great for elder people. It helps them able to hear things and they are happy with it. Deaf people who are participating in their own world where the culture exposes the most - American Sign Language. They are using this language to communicate through visual arts and able to understand each other. However, they do not depend on their ears often which is a huge failure for deaf people who wear the hearing aids. Some of them are wearing it. Others don't wear it.
If you desire to wear the hearing aids for your hearing loss, I highly recommend you to get one. Talk to your doctor and find your own steps to get one. In case, you want to get it because you are deaf, I won't say NO to you. My advice is to see your audiologist and follow up with your hearing skills. First of all, it might won't work for you that well, but using digital hearing aids are much advanced technology since 90's. It is a huge difference from 80's to 90's. In the present, the digital hearing aid models are happening to be tweaked and upgraded. Whatever it works for you, get one. Hearing aids may be working or not and you happen to be deaf, start knowing and learning about deaf culture because it is the only way to bring you a better person, nothing more.
Telling you the pros and cons about hearing aids is only simple and neutral because I only support it in two different opinions between negative and positive. My negative opinion is it won't be able to work for deaf people at all. My positive opinion is it is an excellent item to support people with hearing loss and continue with their life. I hope this article helps you thinking better and make a better decision in the future.
