My friend tells me that my husband is an anomaly. I laughed at first, but then I thought about it and actually she is right. I can't tell you how many times friends of mine will tell their significant others to be more like him. That is what I think about, those little sweet things he does, when he is getting on my nerves.
Let's face it, even the greatest men get on our nerves at some point, but if you are lucky, and I know that I am, the good times and nice gestures outweigh those times you want to strangle him. A lot of woman say you have to "train" a man. Perhaps, that is why their men leave them. If you treat a man like a dog, you honestly, have to expect that he is going to act like one, minus the loyalty.

My husband WANTS to make me happy. He works hard all week to provide for our family and when he gets home, he doesn't pop open a beer and watch the game. He takes me and the kids out to dinner, we play at the park, go to the movies, something together. He loves spending time with us and he makes sure we have at least one date night a week.
A husband should trust his wife. When my husband and I are out and a man tries to hit on me, he knows I am going to shoot him down. The only time my husband would ever get involved or cause a scene is if the man wouldn't leave me alone and then he would handle the situation.
A husband has an awfully hard job. He has to know when to allow his wife her independence and when to come to her rescue, when to console her and when to leave her alone so she doesn't bite his head off. Mostly, a man has to know when something is wrong with us, because we surely aren't going to tell him. If your hubby can decode what "I'm fine." means and fix the problem accordingly, you have a good man.
Husbands should remember that even when your busy life gets in the way, you have to take the time to nurture your wife and your marriage. You need to hug and kiss often, not just at good-bye and goodnight. Rub her shoulders for no reason. Kiss her neck when she is cooking dinner. Tell her you love her everyday, treat her the way you did when you were dating. Don't take for granted that she will always be there. And guys, this is important...
make love to your wife and do it regularly! I know everyone has their idea of what married sex should be like, but don't fall into that. Married sex is single sex... but better. It doesn't have to be a magical sweep her off her feet romance every time, but attention and affection are rewarded in abundance. I promise you this and so does my husband.
Now ladies, you are not off the hook. This doesn't mean you get to slack off. Marriage takes two people giving 100% of themselves. It's okay to wear sweats and relax, but you still need to maintain the attraction too. Think about when he's laying on the couch in sweats and a holey t-shirt- not all that sexy, huh? That goes both ways. Look good for each other and take care of each other. It is simple... you get what you give or at least you should.You have to make your partner feel special if you want them to reciprocate.
If this helps even one person mend a crack in their relationship I will be ecstatic. It is such a simple list of ways to be closer, because being closer IS how to make your spouse happy.
