First dates don't have to be nerve wrecking. If you are genuinely interested in your date and see the signs that they are to you, it can lead to something great. Knowing what to say and when to say it can come in handy, but if you and your date hit it off from the start there is no amount of advice that can replace that.
When you're going on a first date, make sure that the place you go isn't uncomfortable. You want it to be a casual place that is stress free. A coffee shop, a nightclub, or even a fun activity like paintball can be a great starter place to break the ice and get to know someone.
You can ask your date where they grew up, what their favorite food is, what their favorites bands are and even what their dreams or goals are in life. First dates are the best since you have a whole new person to get to know, and there is plenty to find out and learn about them.
Actually, first dates should be the best ones since you'll have the most to talk about.
Music is a great ice breaker as everyone can relate to it. Whatever style of music your date enjoys I'm sure there will be plenty to talk about on the topic. If your date tells you what her favorite band or something is, try to remember it. If you have to, write it down. There's nothing worse than forgetting something important that your date had shared with you, especially if you plan to keep seeing them.
On your first date, if you focus on your date, think of non pressure things to talk about and just let that tension go, you'll have a wonderful time. Paying attention and sharing just as much as your date does is key. If you put a little effort into it, you'll probably have many more dates to come.
